Sunsets & Bubbles – 12 February 2016
I got up this morning with a huge crave of Nutella, but I didn’t have anything at hand to eat it with. So I decided to bake these really easy and quick homemade Nutella Cupcakes.
And like Valentine’s Day is around the corner, I added a little lovey-dovey touch with some strawberry hearts dipped in dark chocolate sauce.
Here’s the images start to end and the recipe in case you want to make them for your special Valentine or if you would like to treat yourself and your friends with a double chocolate dose instead ; )
Honestly, it takes half an hour max from beginning to end to have them all ready to be served!

– 1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
– 1/4 Cup of Cocoa Powder
– 1/4 Cup of Flour
– Teaspoon of baking Powder
– 2 Eggs
– 3/4 of a medium Nutella jag or full one of the small ones (you can add more or less if you want to make it more or less “chocolate”

Pre-heat the oven, around 200C.
Get the sugar mixed with the eggs.
Once you have an homogeneous mixture, add the Nutella and keep whisking it until it’s all mixed together.
Now you can add the cocoa powder, together with the baking powder and flour (use a sieve to avoid lumpiness)
You can either use a special baking tray for cupcakes, as I did or the little cupcakes paper cases.
If you’re using a tray, spread a bit of butter on the base so that the cupcakes don’t stick to the tray.
Leave them for just 8 minutes, as the idea is to get them out with a very smooth texture inside.
You can decorate them as you please, I chose the half strawberry hearts with dark chocolate sauce, but there’s a whole bunch of things you can add on top: Nutella spread, coconut, sparkles, icing, cream… Choose your favourite flavour and go wild ; )
