Sunsets & Bubbles – 12/11/15
Christmas is around the corner… And amongst many other things, Christmas means free-for-all on sweets and chocolate! : ) So I can not think of any better time of the year, to pamper yourself with an Afternoon Tea with a real London taste at the iconic Wellington Lounge in the InterContinental London Park Lane.
And what’s what makes this place so cool? Well, a few things indeed! ; )
It is just off Hyde Park, which on its own it’s just cool, as you can get a lovely walk around the park just before your afternoon tea. But especially at this time of the year, means that you’re 5 minutes away from Winter Wonderland, the biggest Christmas Market in town, perfect plan after the afternoon tea. -Winter Wonderland will be kicking off on the 20th of November this year-another Christmas classic!-.
You’ll be enjoying your afternoon tea in a building full of history. The hotel is located in 145 Picadilly, which was home to the Queen in her childhood years.
And to me, the best bit, they have Chocolate Afternoon Tea!!! 🙂 The feast starts off a Champagne Cocktail to die for… It had an infuse of cocoa liquor, hazelnut liquor and orange all mixed with champagne… They serve the sandwiches, to then give way to the scones, to finalise with the chocolate cakes.
The little downside of it is that they don’t serve it on regular basis; the positive side of it, they serve other seasonal delicious ones instead…
They are about to showcase their Christmas Unwrapped one, which, after seeing the menu that composes it, I wouldn’t mind at all giving it a go! Pigs in blankets and Warm Stilton, chestnut and walnut vol-au-vent is all I can say to you…
An Afternoon Tea at the Wellington Lounge in the InterContinental Park Lane London is perfect for a get together with friends -I can’t think of anything better than cocktails and chocolate for a good catch up 🙂 -, for a birthday treat or when visiting London… It’s just the perfect little treat for a winter Saturday afternoon!
I absolutely loved it! Thanks guys for having us, it was superb!
